If you’ve been referred to nephrology, it’s normal to feel uncertain. We’ll explain why you’re here, what we’re looking for, and what happens next. Our goal is to calm fears and give you a steady path forward.
Appointments typically include a review of your medical history, current medications, recent lab work, and a discussion of your symptoms or concerns. We’ll explain what we find and outline your next steps clearly.
You may fill out patient paperwork prior to your visit or upon arriving. Download and print the file below to review the necessary paperwork.

Please arrive no more than 15 minutes before your appointment. If you are more than 20 minutes late, your appointment will need to be rescheduled. Please also bring your current medication bottles—not a list—to every visit. This helps us provide the most accurate and effective care.
If you’re unsure whether something is relevant, bring it. We’ll sort it out together.

Our providers are not in the clinic every day. Your provider may be working in the dialysis unit, the hospital, or a satellite clinic.
We have clinic locations in Batesville, Clarksdale, Oxford, and Tupelo, plus two satellite clinics in Grenada and Holly Springs. Please let us know which clinic you prefer. We will make every effort to accommodate your preference.
Our team will ask a few questions to direct your call to the appropriate person.
Clinical questions are routed to the nurse’s voicemail; please leave a message and your call will be returned as soon as possible. Nurses may be assisting the physician in clinic, so please allow time for a response.
Phone calls to the nurse that are received after 3 p.m. will be returned the next business day.
Please arrive no more than 15 minutes before your appointment. If you are more than 20 minutes late, your appointment will need to be rescheduled.
As a multi-provider practice, patients may be called back based on their physician’s schedule, not arrival time.
Please make every effort to keep your appointment, as our physicians maintain full schedules and it may take several weeks or months to reschedule. If you cannot attend, notify us in advance so the appointment time can be offered to another patient.
We use an automated reminder system that sends emails, texts, or phone calls until your appointment is confirmed.
We have an automated appointment reminder system. This automated system will call the patient to remind them of their appointment one week prior to the appointment. If the appointment is confirmed, there will not be another call made until one day prior to the appointment. If the appointment is not confirmed, the system will continue trying to reach out to the patient on the phone numbers that have been provided to our office.
It is imperative that patients keep their appointments with our providers so that the provider can monitor them closely. With the nature of illnesses in our patient population, we feel it is absolutely necessary to make all reasonable attempts to ensure that the patient makes their appointment. The calls may seem excessive, but please know that this is for the best interest of the patient.
Contact your pharmacy directly when you need a refill for a prescription previously prescribed by our providers. The pharmacy will send an electronic request to our office to ensure the correct medication is processed.
Please bring your current medication bottles—not a list—to every visit. This helps us provide the most accurate and effective care.
Your medical records are kept confidential and protecting patient privacy is important to us. We will maintain safeguards to protect our patients’ information.
Our practice utilizes MyChart to allow you to access your health information at any time. You must have an account set up through our office. If you would like more information, please ask a staff member.
There are standard fees for each visit, with additional charges for labs and procedures. Payment is expected at the time of service. We accept Visa, MasterCard, cash, or check.
If you agree to use insurance to pay the doctor directly, we will file your insurance claim for you. If your insurance company does not pay within a reasonable time, the balance will become your responsibility. We must have a current copy of your insurance card on file, and it is your responsibility to notify us of any insurance changes. Co-payments and any amounts not covered by insurance are due at the time of service. Charges for services deemed “not covered” are the patient’s responsibility, and payment is due upon receipt of your monthly statement.
If you have insurance with a plan we do not have prior arrangements with, we will still submit the claim for you. If payment is sent directly to you, you are responsible for paying the full balance.
It is your responsibility to confirm that the physician you are seeing is in network with your health plan. If prior authorization is required, please ensure your referring provider has obtained it. You will be responsible for any out-of-network charges or visits not authorized by your insurance.
In the case that our office would need to close due to inclement weather, patient appointments would be rescheduled. Our automated calling system will call and alert the patient on the phone numbers provided. Also, we will post an update on our Mississippi Kidney Facebook page along with posting on WTVA news. These appointments will be rescheduled at the earliest date possible.
